MEET ARTIST ANN RAYMENT

I'm Ann Rayment, a landscape artist from Dolphin Point on the South Coast of NSW. I am drawn to the raw beauty of the Australian environment. My work is a response to place,  the colour, texture, and energy of the land. I paint in mixed media, layering paint, ink, and pastel to capture not just how a landscape looks, but how it feels.

I'm not interested in neat or perfect, I prefer things loose, expressive, and full of movement. I'm always chasing that moment where instinct takes over and something unexpected happens. Texture is a big part of my process, I love when people say they keep finding new things in a painting the longer they look.

Whether it's a distant mountain range, a quiet local track, or a memory from Central Australia, my work comes from a place of connection. I hope it speaks to others who feel that same pull toward the land.

I also run workshops where I share these techniques, encouraging others to loosen up, trust their instincts, and enjoy the process. Whether you're experienced or just starting out, my workshops are all about experimenting, playing with materials, and finding your own voice in the landscape.
