2 day Mixed Media Workshop

Day 1 – Surface & Story: Mono-printing and Expressive Mark Making

Take your landscapes to the next level by exploring mono printing and expressive mark making You’ll learn how to create unique printed papers, develop a personal vocabulary of marks and incorporate these elements into your paintings to add rhythm, movement and visual interest. Through demonstrations and guided exercises, you’ll discover how subtle layers and expressive marks can transform a painting and help tell the story of the landscape.

Day 2 – Building the Landscape: Collage and  Acrylic Layering.

Create bold, expressive foundations using  collage and layered mark making . You’ll explore composition, colour and texture while building depth and atmosphere through intuitive, gestural painting. This session focuses on developing dynamic surfaces and energetic landscape studies that move beyond traditional brushwork

Immerse yourself in two inspiring days of creative exploration

Beginning with mono-printing and mark making to make collage,  you’ll establish expressive landscape techniques before you are taken through mono-printing, mark making and layered mixed media techniques to build the landscape

This workshop is designed to encourage experimentation rather than replication. You’ll learn a wide range of processes while developing your own unique response to the landscape. With demonstrations, individual guidance and plenty of hands-on exploration, you’ll leave with new skills, renewed confidence and a collection of techniques to enrich your future paintings.

Suitable for beginners through to experienced artists wishing to expand their mixed media practice. All materials, and morning tea are included.
